Overview

ClipStitchr("we," "us," or "our") operates the website located at https://clipstitchr.com. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how uploads are handled, and the choices you have.

Media Processing and Storage

ClipStitchr processes uploaded videos and photos in your browser when normalizing, previewing, stitching, or preparing media. Saved media files are stored in Cloudflare R2, and related metadata such as names, tags, trim ranges, and object references is stored in Convex.

Your browser may cache generated poster and thumbnail preview images to make library pages load faster. Clearing browser or site data removes that local preview cache.

Sounds you add are used to help you make and export your own clips and stitches.

Hook Lab analyzes a public TikTok or Instagram video post you choose. We send the public post details and temporary video to our processing providers so they can describe the video and explain its public performance.

For a public social post, Apify retrieves the public post details and a temporary video link when one is available. Our worker places the video in protected temporary storage only while it is being analyzed. We delete the working copies whether the analysis works or fails. We may keep the public post link, creator attribution, extracted text, public engagement counts, a private preview image, and the completed analysis in your account until you remove it. We do not use Hook Lab to save or repost the source video.

You can delete clips, photos, and stitches in the dashboard. Those actions remove the saved record and associated media objects for your account.

If you choose to contact us or submit information through our website, you may voluntarily provide information such as:

• Your name and email address
• Your account and product details
• Billing details such as your billing address, subscription, invoices, payment status, and transaction history
• Feedback, questions, or other messages
• Course checklist progress and notes you choose to save
• App details and audience context you submit to the App Hook Generator

Public Tools and Mailing List

The Ad Variant Calculator and the other public calculators, graders, brief builders, planners, checklists, kits, trackers, and worksheets work in your browser. We do not send their writing, notes, planning numbers, campaign metrics, quotes, costs, or results to our servers just to show your result.

The public video tools read the video or image you choose in your browser. Local tools may inspect technical facts, sparsely decode frames or audio, estimate compression, or show a safe-zone overlay. The media, filename, pixels, audio samples, timestamps, technical facts, and report are not uploaded to ClipStitchr or saved to your account.

Most guided resources save versioned checklist progress and notes in local browser storage. The three email courses are different: after you confirm access, we save their checklist progress and notes in Convex so you can continue on another device without a ClipStitchr product account. CSV and Markdown files are still built and downloaded on your device.

The App Hook Generator sends the app details and audience context you enter to our server, which fills a limited set of existing ClipStitchr hook patterns. It does not send this information to an outside AI provider or save the inputs or results to a ClipStitchr account.

If you join the mailing list from a public tool, we store your name, email address, consent record, and the tool you joined from in Convex. We do not attach your tool answers, notes, uploads, or generated results to that mailing-list profile.

A course request creates access only for the course you chose. Regular public-tool signups do not unlock courses. We store a course entitlement, per-item completion and notes, and only a one-way copy of a random course-session token. Course answers and notes are not sent to Loops, PostHog, TikTok, or general logs.

An accepted form can unlock approved extras in that browser right away. Your browser saves a simple marker that says only that the extras are unlocked. We also set a random 180-day recognition cookie. It is an HttpOnly cookie, which means page scripts cannot read it. It contains no name or email, and our server stores only a one-way copy linked to the contact. A later accepted form replaces the old recognition value.

A new or previously opted-out email must be confirmed before marketing emails begin. The confirmation link lasts 48 hours and works once. Opening it only shows a ClipStitchr page; it does not confirm consent. You must press the confirmation button, and that page loads no analytics or outside resources. Browser access does not wait for email confirmation. Courses are the exception: the regular public tools unlock right away, but course access and cross-device progress begin only after the confirmation button is pressed.

When email delivery is enabled, Loops delivers the confirmation and marketing emails you request. ClipStitchr still requires its own 48-hour confirmation before a new or previously opted-out address can receive marketing emails. We send only the messages you explicitly request, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Payments and Billing

Stripe processes subscription and refill payments for ClipStitchr. Stripe receives the payment details you enter at Checkout. ClipStitchr does not store your full card number or card security code.

We receive and store the Stripe customer, subscription, invoice, payment, refund, and dispute status needed to start your plan, show billing history, apply plan limits, prevent duplicate credits, and help with billing problems.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our website, standard hosting logs may record:

• IP address
• Browser type and operating system
• Pages visited and time spent
• Referring URL

If you allow optional cookies, we may also remember a random visitor ID, your session, the page you landed on, where you came from, campaign links, ad click IDs, and events such as mailing-list sign-ups, public tool use, uploads, exports, AI generation requests, or purchases.

Public-tool analytics use only a fixed event name, tool key, tool experience type, and test version. They do not include your name, email, answers, results, local unlock marker, recognition cookie, or confirmation link.

If analytics cookies are on, we use PostHog to understand how people move through the landing pages and dashboard. When you are signed in, PostHog may receive your account ID, email, and name so we can connect activity to the right account and support the product better.

If marketing cookies are on, we may also send TikTok a hashed version of your email or account ID when you create an account, buy a plan, or sign in. Public tool mailing-list forms do not send your email to TikTok. Hashing means TikTok does not receive the plain email or ID from us.

We use this to understand what is working and improve the site. We do not use optional cookie data unless you allow it.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Run video normalization and stitching workflows
• Create the public tool result you ask for
• Send resources and product updates you requested
• Improve our website content and user experience
• Respond to your inquiries or feedback
• Understand how people use the site
• See which pages and ads are working

Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share account information or media only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: Third-party tools (e.g., hosting, storage, Stripe payment processing, analytics, Apify, AI processing, and email delivery when enabled) that help us run the features you request, subject to their own privacy policies and terms.
• Ad tools: If you allow marketing cookies, we may share website events with TikTok so we can see whether our ads are working.
• Legal requirements: If required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.

Cookies

Clerk authentication uses essential cookies and storage to keep you signed in. Hosting or framework infrastructure may use essential storage for basic functionality.

ClipStitchr also uses a required cookie to remember your cookie choice. Required cookies cannot be turned off because they keep sign-in, security, and the site itself working.

After an accepted public-tool form, local browser storage keeps a non-identifying unlock marker until you clear site data. A separate HttpOnly recognition cookie lasts up to 180 days and is replaced after another accepted form. These values are not advertising cookies, contain no name or email, and are not sent to TikTok or PostHog.

Confirming a course also sets a separate random HttpOnly course session for up to 180 days. Page scripts cannot read it. The raw value stays in the cookie and Convex stores only its one-way hash. It is used only to load that contact's explicit course entitlements and save course progress.

If you allow optional cookies, we use them to understand visits, remember where visitors came from, measure sign-ups or purchases, and see which dashboard features people use most. If you allow marketing cookies, we may load the TikTok Pixel and send server-side TikTok events to help measure ads. TikTok may receive hashed contact or account details for matching when marketing cookies are on.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your data
• Opt out of any future communications

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information below.

Unsubscribing stops future marketing and stops us from linking later public-tool activity to your mailing-list profile. A privacy deletion removes the server's recognition link. The non-identifying browser unlock marker stays on that device until you clear its site data, so a privacy request does not take away browser value you already received.

Unsubscribing also stops future course emails and later lesson releases, while leaving already released work and progress available. A privacy deletion removes course sessions, entitlements, saved checklist progress, and course notes.

Children's Privacy

Our website is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
